Advocates for Backyard Chickens in Macomb, IL

We are a passionate group of residents advocating for the responsible allowance of backyard hens within the city limits of Macomb, IL. In July 2023, we presented a draft ordinance to the City Council after collaboration with the Planning Commission. Despite strong public support, it was voted down 4–3.

Now, with a new City Council in place, we’re trying again—and we need your voice! Whether or not you plan to keep chickens, your support matters. Our elected officials want your feedback.
